According to Polish law, all cases of births, marriages and deaths occurring in the territory of the Republic of Poland are subject to mandatory recording in the Polish system, i.e. in the civil status register, in the form of civil status certificates (along with the content of subsequent entries affecting the content or validity of this act). This does not mean that the above-mentioned events occurring in other countries remain outside national regulation. The structure used to record such events in Poland is the institution of transcription of a foreign civil status document, which means faithful entry of its content into the Polish civil status register.
