The presented expertise shows us Romanian solutions regarding the concept of marriage. The right to family life and the concept of marriage itself have undergone changes since the adoption of the Constitution in 1991 to the present. As the author of the study writes:moving away from its patriarchal meaning, family life now covers a wide range of social relations, which, as Marieta Safta rightly points out, requires reconsideration in terms of the positive and negative obligations of the state. This specific evolution at the national level was, of course, greatly influenced by international standards for the protection of fundamental rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
