On April 27 – 28, 2023, an international scientific conference was held on the subject of the impact of the definition of marriage on the legal solutions of Poland and selected member states. The aim of the conference was to analyze the legal solutions of selected countries on the subject of the definition of marriage and in the context of Polish law and the impact of marriage on other areas of law.
Consistently, on the first day, the consideration covered the systems of the European Union member states that have preserved the traditional model of marriage: Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and countries that have extended the definition to include same-sex unions: Germany and Italy. In addition, the legal solutions of the three EU candidate countries Turkey, Albania and Moldova were presented. On the second day, an analysis of the impact of the definition of marriage on the solutions of civil, family and inheritance law was conceptualized.
