The author of the study presents the archetypes of family happiness presented in the literature of the 19th-century Poland. He bases his considerations on the analysis of numerous examples. The presented expert opinion answers the question: why, when we think and write about the 19th century, we almost immediately see this ideal, loving family, ready for the greatest sacrifices for the equally beloved homeland, permeated with the spirit of Polishness, which was inextricably linked with faith Catholicism, respect for ancestors and national heirlooms?
