Refugee law is a specific branch of law in that, among other things, it consists of legal acts of various levels – international, regional and national. Moreover, national authorities conducting such proceedings should not only take into account the binding national law, which must be consistent with relevant regional regulations and international agreements to which the country is a party, but also examine the current situation in the foreigner’s country of origin based on the facts of the case.
