In European culture, marriage has for centuries been considered the basic institution of the family and has been associated with parenthood. The cultural and social changes that have taken place in France over the last few decades have significantly influenced family life and the vision of the family. Statistical data on births and the number and type of relationships indicate a departure from the so-called traditional family model in French society. As we read in the presented expert opinion, many scientific studies indicate that despite ongoing social changes related to the recognition of women’s rights and the evolution of lifestyles in Europe, there is a clear connection between having children and getting married.
