As the Doctor writes in her expert opinion, marriage is the only institution that functions in a large number of different cultures. It may be monogamous or polygamous. Entering into a marriage connects the spouses with an assumed lasting bond, realized on many levels, both in the strictly intimate and spiritual sphere, to the material dimension, mutual care, cooperation and support of the other spouse and living under one roof. The subject of this study is the analysis of the national legal systems of two countries: the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.
