As we read in the expert opinion of Professor Marta Ganczar: „Cross-border (binational, mixed) marriage is a form of marriage, where the spouses come from different countries or have different nationalities, from a formal-legal point of view it means a registered union, concluded by citizens of two different countries. It is a social and cultural phenomenon that is the result of globalization and the mobility of individuals, which enables unions between people from different geographical and cultural areas. This type of marriage refers to a situation in which a married couple crosses national borders, which leads to various aspects related to international law, family law regulations and social, cultural and economic aspects.” We invite you to read this expert report.
